42 - Black and White

Hello! I hope you are all well!

It's been quite hot the last few days, and will be for a couple coming up too. I'm not a fan. I keep trying to make myself realise that it's actually quite lovely and that we will soon be up to our bums in snow, but I can't! I was totally geared into autumn mode and this is throwing me through a loop. I don't like seeing everyone at school in hot pants and boob tubes. Blahhh.

Anyway, this is what I'm wearing today. It's my last day at school this week which is lovely, but will be busy, but then it's home to relaxing! I dropped a class this week because I hated it and my prof was a dick, so I'm only doing 4 classes this semester, but so far I love it! It gives me time to do (most of ) my work for the other ones, which I really enjoy.

Cardigan: Winner's
Dress: H&M

Belt and earrings: Ardene's

Anywho, I have to run. Add me to twitter, elizabeth__o if you would like. It's addictive, huh?

41 - Fancy Dress Challenge

I don't know if this challenge has a name, but that's what I'm calling it. Claire over at A Monkey Fatshionista challenged me, and the challenge is... to wear one item of clothing per week that I have deemed to fancy for regular day outfits. I think it's a great idea! I have quite a few pieces, mainly dresses, that I only keep for special occasions, and honestly, I only go to special events a couple of times a year. I'm excited to be "made" to re-evaluate my fancy clothes and come up with ways to wear them for normal use. Here's my first go!

I bought this dress from Asos Curve back in May, because I desperately (or at least thought I did) needed a LBD. Turns out I didn't really since I haven't worn it until today. I tried to dress it down with a white top underneath, a cardi and tights. It sort of worked? Still pretty dressed up but not too much for a day of shopping with the boy :)

Cardigan, scarf and earrings: H&M
Top (underneath) and dress: Asos Curve
Tights: We Love Colors
Bag: F21
Shoes: Marks & Spencer (you'll be glad to know I did buy a new pair of black flats today!)

Today was such a good day. I didn't do school work at all! Haha. That's terrible, I know, but I spent the day with Fred and it was lovely, just what I needed. Back to reading and assignments and all that fun stuff tomorrow... I promise!

Also, it was my birthday on Wednesday. It wasn't too exciting. I did turn 21 which is kind of cool. I feel like a right grown-up! I had a night class but went out to dinner afterwards with Fred and some friends. I got a few nice things like liquid eyeliner, bath smellies, and a memory foam pillow (heaven!). Fred made me chocolate mousse too. I haven't been home yet, but I think my mum and dad have both given me money, as has the grandparents. As you know, I already bought my presents from them (Beth Ditto clothes :P) last week, so that's about it I suppose! Oh, no, wait, I did get my hair done. I was a total ginger (no disrespect, seriously, I just looked gross) and now it's back to bright red. Rejoice!

Oh and if you missed it, I finally joined twitter, add me :) elizabeth__o

40 - OOTD School

Fred (my partner) said I looked like I "was going somewhere" today. I said, but I did, I went to school, and he replied "no, like actually going out." Oh Canadians, always assuming that when someone puts a little thought into their outfit that they have to be going somewhere fancy! Just kidding... (sshh, no, I'm not...) Maybe that's just East Coasters though. Most have a daily uniform - jeans (or Lululemons for Uni students) and t-shirts, sneakers or flip flops, maybe flats if they're feeling fancy. Then to the bar they wear.. nothing. Haha. Oh how I wish I was joking!

Anyway, this is what I wore today. I threw it on, little thought went in, but I think it worked. Previously, I had tried to almost fancy up the blazer but I think it works best with a white shirt.

What an earth is up with my face I have no idea...

Top and blazer - Asos Curve
Jeggings - Old Navy
Shoes - Payless
Satchel - Forever 21
Scarf and earrings - H&M

In other news, reading Em and Lauren's blogs and seeing them in Beth Ditto's collection makes me so excited. I hope somehow, miraculously, Canada Post delivers my purchases to me in less than a month. I can't wait to see other bloggers in their clothes too! I love this community :)

Oh and look at the sky outside my house today. Pretty!

39 - OOTD - House Party Edition

Hey! Really quick post as I'm about to head to work at the library but I wanted to post what I wore last night to a friend's birthday party. It was just a house party but I still overdressed. But oh well! I forgot how much I liked this dress, because I always thought it too clingy to my mid-section, but I'm over than now so I can embrace it's awesomeness. Isn't the rose pattern gorge?

Close-up so you can see the pattern and my awesome rings - the owl is from Forever 21 and the bejewlled one is just from Zellers, I think!

Dress: Joe Fresh
Cardigan: George (thrifted)
Tights: We Love Colours
Shoes: Marks Spencer
Belt: Monsoon (I think, it's about 5 years old)

I was wondering, I know some bloggers put sizes, prices and seasons/years of their clothes up too. Would anyone be interested in that? I'm not sure if it would add anything to my posts but I thought I would ask. Let me know :)

That's all for now though! xo

38 - Twitter

Hey :)

So I just signed up for a twitter account, having resisted this long I kind of feel out of the loop. Do I just follow whoever? Does anyone want to follow me? Haha, I'm pretty boring but I thought it would be cool to see what everyone is up to (read: creep). I hope people don't mind if I just randomly follow them..

If anyone is interested I'm under elizabeth__o (that's two underscores..) please feel free to... do whatever it is we do on Twitter?

I'm so technologically ignorant!

Much love, xoxo

37 - What else but Beth Ditto Collection?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that there is a 15% off code for Evans floating around and it works for the Beth collection too! It's EVDIS15. So awesome!

Or there's a 20% off code -

EVESSTWE - too, but I think it expires soon!

The collection is everywhere but I couldn't help but say my two cents. I am a huge fan of Beth and the Gossip and have been for years, and I missed her first collection for Evans, so I am super excited about this one. I know some people have negative things to say, of course, but I do quite like it. I am currently coveting...

I am leaning toward the polkadot dress (a definite, actually), the denim skirt (I've been looking for a nice high-waisted denim pencil skirt for ages!), and maybe the floral leggings. Although, I'm not sure about the leggings, because they are something totally different for me. What do you guys think? I think I could really only wear them with black dresses... Anyway, the other two dresses, the lightning bolt and the floral one, are gorge too, but can I justify them? I'm not sure!

I know a lot of blogs have already posted about the collection but let me know, what are your favourite pieces?

36 - OOTD

Well, I'm definitely back to school now. I started last Thursday, but had Friday off, so it didn't really feel like anything. But now it's Monday and back to the grind. My classes seem interesting but hard. Oh my.

Anyway, here's what I wore today! I got this really cool peacock feather print top this morning from Evans. It took FOREVER to get here! Like, a month. I ordered boots (you'll see them soon, I'm sure) one day before this, and they can a week last Friday. Don't know what happened but hey, they're here now!

I also got this lovely satchel from Forever 21 recently. I was looking for one everywhere, I had wanted a tan leather one, still do really, but couldn't find one. Then I saw this and I really love the colour, and it is perfect for school!

Cardigan - Joe Fresh
Top - Evans
Jeggings - Old Navy
Shoes (below) - Evans

Isn't the print amazing? All the colours are favourites of mine - lilac and lavender, pale pink and turquoise. Amazing! I feel like it needs belted with a skinny black belt but I couldn't find mine today, unfortunately.

Sorry, couldn't seem to fit my shoes in the whole body shot, but these are the ones I was wearing. They're from Evans and total love.

Anyway, that's about it. To everyone who had also gone back to school - how is it so far? Lots of work? I'm trying to implement plans to stay motivated, especially during winter, so that I stick to my work load but it's hard! Any suggestions? You'd think by year 3 I would be a pro but no...

35 - Birthday List

It's my birthday! Well, in two weeks! But I like to plan ahead. Seeing as I have a rather unimaginative family (or just intimidated by me so have no idea what to gift!) I usually just get cash money money. Which is fine! Then I can buy goodies (they insist I do this and not spend the money on lame stuff like groceries or power bills). Here is my birthday dream list...

Electra Cruiser (turquoise, red or pink, please)

Rose print cardigan and velvet leggings, both Asos Curve.

Vintage cat eye glasses (located over here)

Well, I'm sure there are lots more things that I love but these have been the things most on my mind. Although, I really do need to buy books for school.... Yeahhh right, haha.

Oh and while I'm thinking about cardigans, does anyone know where I can get cool patterns and colours for my size? I am craving!

34 - Amazing Inspiration Post

ot clothes inspiration, I'll leave that for another day (or later...), but fat acceptance inspiration. I am blown away by so much that I see and read that I wanted to highlight some of my favourites, although you definitely may have seen or read them before.

33 - Random WIWs and Anniversary :)

It was the boy and my's third anniversary yesterday. We had a lovely day. We went to Sherbrooke Village, which is a working museum showing life in 19th century Nova Scotia. Then we had dinner at Liscombe Lodge, which is actually where we met, when we were both working in the restaurant three and a half years ago! Good day all round :) I bought him a ticket to the Black Label Society concert in Halifax next month and he gave me Burberry The Beat! So excited :) I've been coveting that perfume for months! It smells so lovely. What an attentive guy!

Anyway, here's what I wore...

So sorry for the really crappy picture in mirror deal. I was without my photographer! And I'll apologise for the next few too now, haha.

Here's a quick shot of Sherbrooke Village. It's actually super cute and a fun day out. Especially if you're a history nerd like me. Unfortunately we went late and missed most of the demos but it was still a lovely day to walk around and have a nose. The buildings are all mid-19th century. (Not old for any Non-North American nations, I know, but still cool!)

Here are a few more WIWs from the weekend...

Went to the fair on Friday!

Hurricane party in our apartment building :)

You could say I love the white tee under tops...

Here's what I wore today, back to normalcy and work after about 8 days off for my last-minute-before-school holiday!

Just got this top from Asos Curve today and I am in love! It's silk-effect material and so floaty. The colours are amazing and it is just really gorgeous. Such a steal in the sales too.

Cardigan: H&M
Top: Asos Curve
Jeggings: Old Navy
Shoes: Payless
Earrings: Primark
Ring: Black Market (Halifax)

I got a few other things today but I haven already bombarded you with enough pictures for one day so another time, dears :)

31 - Fuck yeah jeggings

Hellooo! Sorry for no updates, the boy and I were away, staying with my mum and siblings in Halifax. We left earlier today to come back home before the hurricane. Scary stuff. Although, it's now been downgraded to a category 1, so hopefully it won't be too bad! It cannot be any worse than the heat we have been suffering through this week though. Seriously. It's basically too hot to be alive much less be a normal functioning human being. It's upwards of 40°C + with humidity. It's sooo awful. We were planning a mini cross-Nova Scotia trip for this week but had to give up because it is too hot to do anything. Boo. We did get to a theme park on Monday though! That was fun. And by Nova Scotia standards a theme park means... one ancient wooden roller coaster, one log flume ride, and a scary house with the scariest thing being a dummy than looks like Ozzy Osborne. Haha. It was fun though. The flume was so much fun.

So with the heat and the fact that I was living on just a few pieces of clothing for the last 5 days means that I wasn't very awesome with my outfits. Although, sometimes with a few loved pieces I find that you can almost be a lot more creative than you would be with a whole wardrobe full of clothes, do you know what I mean?

Here are two outfits I wore though!

Top and leggings: Asos Curve
Dress: Old Navy
Shoes: George @ Asda
Bag: Bueno @ Winners
Necklace: Aldo
Leopard hair clip: H&M

Definitely feeling the shirt under dress trend - cooler than a cardigan and still cute!

Top and jeggings: Old Navy
Shoes: Marks and Spencer
Bag: Harrods
Necklace: Spring?

Big shout out to Sonia of Anomalous Allure for bring my attention to these new jeggings from Old Navy. We swung by on Sunday and I picked these babies up for $29 on sale -30% with a coupon I had. Score! These are the snuggest jeggings ever and I love them! I'd been looking for good black jeggings for ages! Haha. I also love this Paddington Bear bag my dad picked up for me the last time he was in London. So awesome, and the colours - red, white and black - go with so much of what I'm wearing right now. I am obsessed with these colours!

I picked up some good fall clothes when in Halifax - a lot from Alfred Sung Pure+ and on sale too! Can't wait til it cools down and I can share! Bring on it on Hurrican Earl, get rid of this extreme heat and humidity! I can't wait til proper September weather!
